Love, Life and Lettuce. It's grim in Sweden....

Eat Sleep Die is a strange film. It opens with some BANGING techno music, then quickly sets in to being mostly glum. We follow Eastern European immigrant Rasa as she struggles with an ill father, local racism and unemployment.

It's actually a really well made film with an almost documentary style to it, it's just difficult to enjoy because it's so unrelentingly real. Nermina Lukac is great in the central role, it's very much her film, and she portrays the trials that Rasa has to endure with ease.

It's to the film's credit that you come away from it really feeling like you've lived in Rasa's shoes for 104 minutes but we're not convinced we'd want to spend any more time in them. That life is just too hard....
